Find out more:

While there are many ways to find a position in the apartment industry, one of the greatest resources is ApartmentCareers.com. ApartmentCareers.com is the leading online resource for careers in the apartment industry and you can access it through this site by visiting it here. You can post your resume for free and search thousands of apartment industry jobs.

Another way to find out about jobs in the industry is to visit apartment communities and speak with the management team on site. Even if there isn't a position available at that particular community, many properties are owned by a larger company that may have jobs open at other properties. By speaking with apartment industry professionals, you may be pointed in the right direction to find a position. Most apartment companies post their job opportunities on their Web site.

Another resource for you to use is at your finger tips. Pick up a local copy of For Rent, Apartment Finder or Apartment Guide magazines, usually found near newspaper stands or in your local grocery store, and look at the companies who advertise their properties. You may be able to use this as a basis for searching companies who are located in your area.

There are also other more traditional ways of finding a job:

  • As old fashioned as it sounds, check the “classifieds” section of your local newspaper.
  • Already have a company in mind? Check their Web site daily for openings.
  • For local openings, www.Craigslist.com is a great resource. The jobs are separated by categories so it’s easy to navigate.
  • Most colleges have career services that are very helpful. Check out the Career Center on campus.

Finding the right position may take different approaches for different people. The important thing is to learn what you can about the industry and the positions that interest you and then take the first step.
